Every soccer player knows that if you misbehave on the field you risk receiving a yellow, or even a red card. Why not use the same system to put attention on those who set a good example to improve the climate on and around the soccer field? Based on this idea, the Stockholm Football Federation (StFF) rewrote the competition rules and introduced “Grönt Kort för Fair Play”, (“Green Card for Fair Play”).
Since the start in 2016, over 500 000 Green Cards have been handed out in Sweden. Besides being on everybody’s lips, the card increased the sponsor revenue for StFF by over 500%.
